In order to study the process of preparation for a pilot population census in November 2021 in the republic on April 6 of this year, a seminar was organized under the leadership of Vladimir Leonidovich Sokolin, Chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee and Bakhodir Abdusalomovich Begalov, Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chairmen of the State Committee on Statistics Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev and Zohidzhan Ziyayev, heads of Departments of the central office of the State Committee on Statistics, employees of the Departments for organizing and maintaining the census processes of the regional departments of statistics of the Republic by videoconference.
The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics B.A. Begalov. In his opening remarks, B.A. Begalov spoke about the achievements in the field of statistics in our country, spoke about the work done to prepare for the population census.
The chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee, Vladimir Sokolin, spoke about the experience of foreign countries in the field of statistics, in particular, demographic statistics, the use of population data and the census, spoke in detail about the experience of countries that conducted population censuses in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, as a recommendation for the pilot census planned for November 2021 in the Republic of Uzbekistan, he voiced the key components worth paying attention to, the problems that may be encountered during the pilot census and ways to solve the difficulties that arise, based on personal experience.
At the end of the seminar, V.L. Sokolin answered in detail the questions of interest from the participants.
