Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Mirsoatov got acquainted with the activities of the headquarters for the population and agricultural census organized at the Statistics Department of the city of Tashkent.

During the visit, the processes of preparation for the census, the state of organizational work, and issues of cooperation between responsible structures were studied. Also, the Deputy Chairman held an online dialogue with the heads of district statistics departments through the ZOOM platform and discussed the issues of forming GIS data and their importance for the high-quality conduct of the population and agricultural census.


During the discussions, the importance of accurately determining the geolocation of each mahalla and facility, aligning data with digital maps, and ensuring the accuracy of information collected through GIS was noted. It was also emphasized that this will ensure full coverage, improve the quality of statistical data, and form an information base for further analytical work.

Following the visit, relevant recommendations were given to responsible specialists on organizing work with GIS data in accordance with established requirements.
