In order to accelerate the preparation processes for the 2026 Population and Agriculture Census in the Samarkand region, another important meeting was held via the "ZOOM" platform.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Hokim of the region, Sh. Buranov, the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, B. Khamraev, the Hokim of the district, D. Shakarboev, as well as heads of relevant organizations, sectors, and representatives of the "mahalla seven" in the regions and districts.
During the meeting, held online, issues of consistently organizing census processes in all mahallas of the region, increasing the level of preparation, and defining specific tasks for each responsible person were discussed in detail.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the following issues:
- The tasks of the "mahalla seven" - the scope of responsibilities of each member during the registration process, the procedure for working with citizens, the culture of visiting homes, and the requirements for proper registration of data were explained.
- New mechanisms for working with the population have been defined - measures to provide the population with sufficient information about the essence and significance of the census, specific instructions for door-to-door visits, and explanations of the online registration process.
- Methodological recommendations were given on the accuracy of statistical data - the reliability of each information entered during registration, the procedure for registration in electronic systems, and the timely detection of errors.
- Detailed information was provided on the use of digital systems - work on the census.stat.uz platform, the use of the registration mobile application, and technical support systems.
- Analysis of the situation in the regions - the level of training in mahallas, the literacy and skills of employees, existing problems, and mechanisms for their prompt elimination were discussed.
Following the meeting, the First Deputy Hokim of the region and the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee instructed all members of the mahalla committee and district officials:
- increasing public awareness;
- strengthening of propaganda and explanatory activities;
- conducting registration processes in accordance with established requirements;
- solving problems on the spot;
- strengthening responsibility and discipline.
