A training seminar on the preparation for the population census was organized

On September 18, 2020, a seminar was held at the Statistics Department of the Navoi region in which the employees of the department, district and city statistics divisions participated. The event highlighted the activities carried out in the course of fulfilling the tasks on the preparation for the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022, defined by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 5, 2019 DP-5655 “On approval of the Concept of the conduct of a population census of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022”.

The work of the seminar was opened by the deputy head of the Statistics Department of the Navoi region - U. Suyunov. In his speech, U. Suyunov covered the issues discussed at the seminar, which took place on September 8-9, 2020 at the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

 

In particular, in order to organize and conduct the census process in accordance with the Ruling of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 3, 2020 № RP-4796 “On measures for further improvement and development of the National statistics system of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the State Committee on statistics has been allocated 65 full-time employees, including 48 full-time employees for regional departments. In accordance with this Ruling, the Division of Organization and Conduct of Census Processes was created in the Statistics Department of the Navoi Region, after that the employees of this division were introduced.

In her speech to the participants of the seminar the head of the Division of Organization and Maintaining the Census Processes of the Statistics Department of the Navoi region - M. Yuldasheva noted that the population census will be conducted in the country for the first time since 1989. She emphasized the necessity  for all the employees of the statistics system to take an active part in this event and to be aware of the responsibility for the tasks assigned to them.

Suyunov also noted that the statistical data collected in the census process will now be included into a single electronic information system, as a result of which a single database will be created, which will contain all the information concerning each makhalla and street, remote villages.

Considering the fact that the census is of a comprehensive nature and is in the focus of attention of observers from international organizations, he explained the necessity of the qualitative task performance set jointly with the relevant bodies on the ground.

Also, the participants of the seminar were acquainted with the forms of the census form and given practical explanations for filling them in.

During the seminar, the participants were provided with detailed information on issues related to the organization and conduct of the census.
