On September 18 of this year, the department for organizing and conducting the population census of the Department of Statistics of the city of Tashkent organized a training seminar on the topic "Measures carried out in the Republic of Uzbekistan to prepare for the population census in 2022."
The seminar was attended by deputy heads of the Department, heads of the Department for organizing and conducting census processes, heads of the regional department of statistics and responsible employees.

This training-practical seminar was opened by the Deputy Head of the Department V. Ibragimov. He expressed his views and spoke about the issues raised at the seminar organized by Goskomstat in 8-9 September this year.
By the agenda, the Head of the Department of Organization and Conduct of Population Census Processes O. Abdurakhmanov made a speech and said that the official census began in the United States in 1970, the first population census in Uzbekistan was conducted in 1897, then in 1926. In 1939, 1959, 1970, 1979 and 1989, a population census was also conducted. But after independence, such work was not done.
It was noted that on the basis of the Decree of the President of our country "On approval of the concept of conducting a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022" dated February 5, 2019, a draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the population census" was developed.

Preparation based on the action plan for the preparation for the population census of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022. It was noted that due to the fact that the population census is a large-scale event, it is advisable to organize work in conjunction with regional departments of statistics, local government bodies, gatherings of citizens of the makhalla.
The purpose of conducting additional seminars with local government bodies, gatherings of citizens of makhallas on the development of an automated information system for entering, processing and timely receipt of final information, and filling out forms of population census forms.
