The Kyrgyz Republic conducted a population census from March 25 to April 3, 2022 year.
The census was carried out through a special application installed on the mobile phones of census takers.
According to the results obtained during the census, the resident population of Kyrgyzstan as of March 25, 2022 amounted to 6,9 million people, including 2,4 million people - urban and 4,5 million people - rural population. Over the thirteen years that have passed since the 2009 census, the permanent population of the republic increased by
1,6 million people, or by 29.3 percent, including urban population - by 581 thousand people, or by 31.8 percent, rural - by 992.3 thousand people, or by 28.1 percent.
In accordance with the publication schedule of the National Statistical Committee, thematic collections will be published containing detailed results of the population and housing census, including geographical, demographic, economic and social characteristics of the population, data on external and internal migration, family and household characteristics, as well as housing characteristics.
