A meeting on conducting a pilot population census was held in the city of Khiva

On February 4, this year, in Khiva city of Khorezm region, a round table was held on the topic “Work carried out in 2023 on the pilot population census” by The State committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on statistics and Statistical division of the Khiva city.

Deputy Chairman of The State committee on statistics Makhmudjon Ziyadullayev, governor of Khiva city Temur Davletov, staffs of Statistical division of the Khiva city, activists of makhalla and mass media were attendant.

The Round Table was opened by the Deputy Chairman of The State committee on statistics Ziyadullayev Mahmudjon Jurakulovich.

The event was also attended by governor of Khiva city Temur Davletov, Deputy of the Khiva City Council of People's Deputies A. Rakhimov, Head of Statistical Department of Khorezm Region A.Otamuratov and others and all of them expressed their views about the topic.

As noted at the meeting, the population census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale, which allows you to get a “photograph” of the country's population at a certain point in time and is a reliable source of information about the population.

The data of each citizen is of paramount importance in the conduct of a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, sex, citizenship, ethnic composition, marital status, education, level of housing, employment, sources of income.

The population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan will take place from 1 to 25 November 2023. It was also noted that in order to conduct the census process and approbation of all regulatory documents from November 1 to 25, 2021, pilot population census will be conducted in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukorichirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent.

At the end of the event, the specialists of the State Committee on Statistics provided detailed information on issues of interest to the participants.
