On January 28 of this year, in the Yashnabad district of the capital, the State Statistics Committee and the khokimiyat of the Yashnabad district held a round table on the topic "ongoing work on the population census in 2023."
It was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev, the khokim of the Yashnabad region Bakhtiyor Rakhmonkulov, employees of the State Statistics Committee, the khokimiyat and the statistics department of the city of Tashkent, activists of the mahalla, as well as representatives of the media.
The round table was opened with an opening speech by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics Ziyalullaev Mahmudjon Dzhurakulovich.
The event was also attended by the khokim of Yashnabad district Bakhtiyor Rakhmonkulov, head of the department for organizing and conducting the census processes of the State Statistics Committee Kobil Berdikulov and others.
As it was noted at the meeting, the census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale, allowing to take a “photograph” of the population of the country for a certain period of time and being a reliable source of information about the population.
The data of each citizen is of primary importance in conducting a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, gender, citizenship, national composition, marital status, education, level of housing security, employment, sources of income.
The population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be conducted from November 1 to 25, 2023. Also, in order to approbate the census process and all regulatory documents, from November 1 to 25, 2021, in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, a pilot population census will be conducted.
At the end of the event, Goskomstat specialists provided detailed information on issues of interest to the participants.
