On September 25, 2020 in the khokimiat of Zarafshan city, a seminar was held by the Statistics Department of the Navoi region at which the chairmen and the employees of makhalla citizens’gatherings of Zarafshan city, as well as the representatives of enterprises and organizations participated. The seminar was dedicated to the performed work and the tasks which are being performed on the preparation for the 2022 population census in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 5, 2019 DP-5655 “On approval of the Concept of conducting a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022”.

The seminar was opened by the deputy head of the Statistics Department of the Navoi Region - U. Suyunov. In his speech he told about the history of the population census and the established tasks on the preparation for the 2022 census in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 5, 2019 DP-5655 “On approval of the Concept of conducting a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022”.

In her speech to the participants of the seminar the head of the Division of Organization and Conduct of Census Processes of the Statistics Department of the Navoi region - M. Yuldasheva noted that the population census will be conducted in the country for the first time since 1989. She also spoke about the normative legal documents of the population census, the main tasks and stages of the population census, which will be conducted in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022. She emphasized the necessity for everyone to take an active part in this event and be held responsible for the tasks imposed on them.
- Suyunov also noted that the statistical data collected in the census process will now be included in a unified electronic information system, as a result of which a unified database will be created which will contain all information regarding each makhalla and street and remote villages.

Taking into account the fact that the census is of a comprehensive nature and is in the centre of attention of observers from international organizations, he explained the necessity to perform the tasks in a qualitative manner, set jointly with the relevant local authorities.
In addition to it, the participants of the seminar were acquainted with structures of census forms and given practical explanations on how to fill them in.
During the seminar, the participants were provided with detailed information on issues related to the organization and conduct of the census.
