On February 20 of this year, a meeting was held in the Committee on Science, Education and Health of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis to discuss the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the census”.
The meeting discussed the reflection in the law of aspects related to the census, a reliable calculation of the population, as well as determining sex, age, marital status, level of education, employment, nationality, citizenship and other demographic, social and economic indicators in the period of a single set of records. Senate members and experts attending the meeting noted that the adoption of the law would allow an assessment of global changes in the composition of the population.
This law is the regulatory framework for the development of targeted programs to improve public health, improve the status of women and children and provide assistance to families.
Recall that the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the census” is included on the agenda of the plenary meeting, which will be held on February 28.
